Top 5 Girls From Nintendo
The Nintendo era introduced some of the most perfect women in video game history. The gamer felt compelled to save these damsels in distress in the hopes of being the hero they always saw themselves as. But some of these women weren’t the fawning princesses we’ve come to know throughout the video game medium. You could actually play as some of them, and the ones that you could play as would became some of your favorite protagonists. This next list will go through the most memorable girls from Nintendo games. We could have made this list longer and included the girls from other video game franchises, but we thought the most important ones were on Nintendo games. When we think of hot video game chicks, we always think of these next five girls. They are Nintendo’s very best women.
5. Marian (Double Dragon)
Although Double Dragon was an arcade game before it was ported to the Nintendo, we liked Marian so much that we had to include her on this list. Marian, like Zelda, was always being caught by the worst characters in town. For some reason, she was always alone waiting to be taken back into bad guys’ lairs where narcotics and pole dancers were just some of the fun reserved for video game antagonists. Once the gamer saw the Marian though, they understood why the rest of the game would be devoted to saving her. Marian had the type of appeal that made guys dream about the best one night stands. She wore skimpy clothes that clearly showed off all of her best features and she walked like she owned any man that showed interested in her. It’s a good thing that she couldn’t defend herself with the conviction in which she carried herself. There would be no Double Dragon then. At the end of the Double Dragon games, the gamer could see Marian in the flesh. Seeing this street chick up and close in her tight attire further added to the gamers lascivious love interest in Marian. While Marian wasn’t the most fair or graceful of the Nintendo women, she always hit the adolescent gamer with one of their first exposures to puberty.4. Ayla (Chrono Trigger)
Ayla from Chrono Trigger was pretty hot. It wasn’t until later in the game though that one could experience this prehistoric babe in full force. Ayla was not just some passive woman waiting on a man to save her from the world. She held her own, fighting the massive beasts of her age and even battling the most diabolical enemies in the future. Her attack power was one of the strongest in the game, even matching the force of Chrono himself. Combine her attack power with Robo and Chrono and one would experience one of the most devastating multi-attacks in RPG history. Her defense was also a strong point in her overall character being endowed with a large amount of hit points right from the start. Take a closer look at Ayla and the gamer saw more than just attack and defensive power. They saw the hottest girl in the Chrono Trigger series (not like there was that many to start off with) who made game play easy on the eyes. Ayla was surrounded by flowing blonde hair. Her wavy golden locks matched her cloth and stone bikini garb. She would strike the screen with her power and beauty more than most women in the video game medium. Ayla like all great female characters in video games was fun to look at and fun to play as.3. Princess Toadstool
Princess Toadstool was Mario’s favorite belle in the mushroom kingdom ball. She wore a lovely pink dress that bustled out with the most conspicuous of Cinderella fantasies. Like Zelda, she would suffer at the hands of a pugnacious demon. But Toadstool was different from Zelda. She didn’t need a prototypical hero to be satisfied. She could be quite taken with short obese plumber’s in red overalls. This accepting side of her showed an inner beauty not seen in traditional video game princesses. Go past Mario 1, and the gamer would witness how strong of a person physically that Princess Toadstool was. She could float over areas dodging all the enemies who wanted to have there turn with the loyal plumber lover. Toadstool then was much more than a princess that needed to be saved. She was strong, compassionate and skilled all at the same time. With all these aspects considered, her beauty becomes much more significant with the realization of inner beauty and noticeable strength. Mario was one lucky guy. One wonders why Luigi never teamed up with Bowser in trying to extirpate Mario and his love affair with Toadstool.2. Samus
We met Samus Aran first in Metroid 1 for the NES. This great game hosted one of the cooler looking protagonist the gamer would ever play with. Little did they know though that this valiant space hero would turn to be a beautiful blonde with a striking body. Only the best game players would see this though, as only after finishing the game in the optimal time would the gamer get to witness Samus Aran in a two piece bikini. The worst players would see Samus in her full armor making the gamer think that Samus was still a male. This tradition of beating the game in a quick time would continue throughout the Metroid series. Being able to see Samus Aran in a bathing suite would prove to be one of the greater motivations for beating a video game. When the gamer realized that Samus was a female, they thought back to all the flexibility she epitomized throughout the game making the nerds mind wander even further than need be for a virtual character. Samus Aran was not the damsel in distress spoken about in the intro. She was the hero who matched her mettle with beauty.1. Princess Zelda
Zelda is the prototypical princess in the video game world. She is often asleep at the whim of nefarious antagonists. She would be rescued by a green clad hero with long ears. When the gamer got to see Zelda in the flesh though, they were in love at first sight. She wore a long forest gown that matched her long blonde locks. The gamer felt the imperative of saving this princess in hopes of being able to spend time with this vermillion nymph. Zelda would change appearance in the series that proceeded, but she would always keep her basic beauty with the organic theme she embodied. It was a shame that she could never be saved for a prolonged period of time. Gannon must have had the hots for her as much as Link, but why did he only want her asleep all the time (relax!)? Zelda would continue to show off her beauty in the subsequent Zelda’s where she would be enveloped in polygons and cd quality graphic technology. Throughout all Zeldas though, she would symbolize her legacy as the primary forest bride of the video world.

What the fuck does Marian from Double Dragon have to do w/Nintendo? Other than the fact that Double Dragon was on the NES there’s no reason for her to be associated w/Nintendo. I think you thought this would be a cool list until you came up w/4 exclusive Nintendo chicks and then had to reach for a chick that was multiplatform and originated in the arcade. Which is probably why it’s Top 5 and not 10.

“What fuck does Marian from Double Dragon have to do w/Nintendo?”
“Other than the fact that Double Dragon was on NES”
I think you answered your own question.

It’s a top 5 list solely because we’re too lazy to write a “Top 10″ every week.
November 20th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
Too lazy to find a screenshot of ayla too.
November 20th, 2009 at 9:29 pm
Well if you really read my comment you’d know that I also said you had to “reach to find another girl and went w/someone who was multiplatform and also originated in the arcades”. So why not try finding a character that was only in a Nintendo produced title exclusively for a Nintendo console. I accept you choosing Marian as pure laziness so we’re in agreement on that part.
Marian’s not a Nintendo character plain and simple. Quit being lazy and put more thought into the content of you’re weak site.

Marian is badass!

Shit sucks!

“Quit being lazy and put more thought into the content of you’re weak site.” Yeah.. “you’re weak site” he is weak site? dolt. I love how you got so heated as to what makes an NES girl. Please don’t rally the troops and start a march, you Jesse Jackson of video game top 5s.

Oh ok damn you’re Mr. Perfect and never had a typing error at all huh? I like how that’s the only thing you feel you can get on me about. You must be some celestial being who’s way above making mistakes and not actually human. I’m pretty sure you’re old wizard himself so it’s sad that you have to change your name to make an attempt at calling someone out.

That actually wasn’t us. We said all we needed too. The list clearly states girls “from nintendo games”. If that’s not clear enough for you, I’m not sure what would be.

Chrono Trigger was “NOT” a Nintendo game. It was a game for the Super Nintendo which is “NOT” a Nintendo.
As for Double Dragon, open your eyes you blind dolt! If you look up that game anywhere first off it will tell you it is an arcade game first and home versions of the game were released for the Nintendo, Sega Master System, Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Game Boy, Genesis and Atari Lynx which plainly are not Nintendo consoles.
Thank you for playing and have a good life of fail.

Guys, by all means feel free to voice your disapproval of these lists – I’m sure that’s one of the reasons it is here for – but be reminded that you are not to attack the person, only the argument. There’s nothing wrong with being frank – you can rarely disagree without being frank – but when you start launching polemics on the person, that’s when the discussion’s lost.
Peace.
As for the list, it’s not bad, the top 3 are spot on, in my humble opinion. Though I can’t really decide between the top 2… hmm.
See you next time.
November 20th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
How can you keep from attacking the person when they know nothing about video games?
November 20th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
By all means, feel free to tell them WHY they know nothing about video games; just refrain from the hostilities.
Peace.

This list is awesome. Sega suxxxx, it was for people to poor to play Mario based games! Sega is discount bargain city… I mean their marquee character is a Hedgehog? LAME, and now Nintendo owns them anyways.
oh wait, wrong article.

Samus is miles better than Zelda.
November 20th, 2009 at 3:36 pm
Samus should have been #1.

who cares what species a company’s mascot is.
