You’ve got to understand at the moment it’s not cool to like Oasis in America. A fat ass country that only knows 2 of their songs, and whose people are obsessed with themselves and reputation. me me me.

Whereas in the UK many people like Oasis, even cats.
Oasis made it cool to play guitar again, start a band and live life to the full. They almost single handedly pushed british indie to the mainstream, and influenced a whole range of band’s that i can’t be arsed to list.
That’s the impact and influence Oasis had, and to understand you probably would have had to be British.
Savage band, savage songs, timeless music.

Hello James, i think the main point of this stupid argument leads to one conclusion, arguing on whos better, whats better, in arts and music is just impossible to conclude.
we’re trying to make sense of something that doesnt really make any sense..to my self i can say well the beatles would not exist without Bach..nor the rest of the musical world that came after him..

hey Hal the fact that you are studying music doesn’t give you the right to write this shit… I like the beatles a lot … and i like oasis a lot… but I tell you the beatles were in the right place at the right time too… the year 62 man! there was a lack of good bands… the picked the front row for the rock n’ roll history… then the rolling stones… the who…….
musically after Sgt. peppers they just stick to surrealism a bit… good songs OK! of course! but Oasis came up when everything was so full of music.. not only Rock N’ Roll…. Metal… Pop… Rap… Hip Hop… and all that rubbish! Rock was losing place… they came up and redefined a generation… and give us back the good taste of music from its influences.. all at once the beatles, the rollling stones, the who, the sex pistols, the stone roses and so on…

they even play better Helter Skelter… what do you say?? Paul McCartney is annoying singing helter skelter… in the other hand Noel sings it well…
but i know what you will think… “ITS THE BEATLES EVERY SHIT THEY DO IS GOOD”

yes they were a popular act…but so is Britney, and i could have this argument with some chick who might tell my britney has the best songs in the world..you both be wrong, just because you like them and you see some1 criticizing them, doesn’t mean you need to protect them like you are married couple..everything i said about oasis musically is true, despite that they still achieved what they achieved the answer to that is simple, its not because theyre so good in writing songs, its mostly cause they were “good enough” and were in the right time and the right place which was the 90s..crazy times indeed, but if you think im wrong, please do tell me what is so great about oasis songs, musically speaking.
