Top 10 Most Powerful Superheroes of All Time
Here it is folks, the biggest debate on the whole interweb. Never has there been a more well thought out argument for a completely non-existent thing. Which superhero could beat up which other superhero. Never has a group of people spent more time drawing graphs, doing calculations, making charts, and writing computer programs to prove that the hero they love is in fact the toughest. These people do more literature searches than a graduate student writing their dissertation on literature. One can only imagine what world problems could be solved if comic book nerds would instead focus this same energy on say; poverty, healthcare, the climate, pollution, the economy, childhood obesity, cancer, sudden infant death syndrome, racism, genetic disorders, violence against women, the melting ice caps, sending a man to mars, depression, solving Goldbach’s conjecture, creating a unified field theory, un-raveling the mystery of DNA, figuring out what happened before the big bang, resolving religious tensions in the Middle East, finding peace on Earth, making cleaner cars, sustainable energy, nuclear fission, getting rid of hippies, and the million other things that would make this world a better place to live in.
So in order to finish this debate once and for all we here at OW have finally finished THE list of the most powerful superheros. This is it folks. As every faithful reader knows that we here at OW are always right, we have proved it in the past. There can no longer be any debate. No more argument required. This list has taken us years to complete, and has threatened to destroy all that is OW. While making this list there was lots arguing, name calling, some shouting, a little bit of snuggling, more shouting, lots of your momma’s, but we finally came up with the definitive list of the most powerful superheroes of all time. We can’t be more clear on that last point, this is it. None of what you are about to read is opinion, it is fact. Next time one of your nerd buddies starts to argue you need only refer to this list, kindly pat him the head a give him one of the problems listed above to argue about. Here’s how we did it. First we excluded all super villains, this is heroes only, next we eliminated all exorbitantly overpowered cosmic beings (Phoenix, Odin, or the Highfather). And finally we ignored all heroes that would be considered ‘normal’ but have similar powers as those listed below. Then we plugged in all the facts and figures into the OW super computer and waited. Exactly 137 days later the answer was spit out. It then took us one year to figure out what that answer meant. Finally its over, these are the most powerful superheroes. Fact.
10. The Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)
Despite coming in at number 10, The Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) is one tough hombre. As a member of the Green Lantern Corps, he wields a power ring that can generate a variety of effects and energy constructs, sustained purely by the ring wearer’s strength of will. The greater the user’s willpower, the more effective the ring. The limits of the power ring’s abilities are never defined, but it has been referred to as “the most powerful weapon in the universe” on more than one occasion. It’s precious. Over the years, the ring has been shown capable of accomplishing almost anything within the imagination of the ring bearer. Often the rings are used to form solid-light constructs, the power and size of which are limited only by the ring-bearer’s willpower. And, if that wasn’t powerful enough, DC recently (in 2006) retconned the ring’s longtime lack of effect on yellow objects, stating that the ring-bearer need only feel fear and overcome it in order to affect yellow objects. With his protective bubbles and mean green energy bursts, the Green Lantern has fought with, and at varying times against, such heavyweights as Superman and Captain Marvel. But he’s still no match for number 9 on our list…9. Doctor Strange
Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Steven Strange, has unparalleled sagicity of the mystic arts, and stands as humanity’s first and last line of defense against all magic-based menaces that threaten our dimension. I think Doc Strange is probably one of the more powerful characters in the Marvel Universe, and light years ahead of any of the crappy sorcerers from DC (although Zatanna is way hotter). Given that he can do pretty much anything that the person who is currently writing him can imagine, he could potentially beat any of the other characters in this list. In fact, he could probably beat some of them by simply wiggling his finger. Of course this assumes that he would enough time to do so. The problem is that most of the other heroes on this list won’t give him even that small amount of time. His lack of super speed, super reaction time, super senses and any sort of super human invulnerability, make Dr. Strange one of the easiest characters to defeat on this list. For this reason alone we put Dr. Strange at #5. If he had unlimited prep time before each fight, he could easily be number one on this list.8. Black Bolt
Our seventh most powerful superhero of all time is Black Bolt, the king of the offshoot of humanity known as the inhumans. Black Bolt has often been described as one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel universe by other heroes, and for good reason. Through electron gathering and manipulation, Black Bolt can increase any aspect of his physical nature to superhuman levels, including his strength, speed, stamina and durability. In times of great need, he can channel this power into a single devastating punch called “The Master Blow”. He can also harness the electrons for matter transformation; the controlled projection of energy as concussive blasts or quasi-solid particle/electron fiends, broadcasting jamming frequencies, and flight. But Black Bolt’s most salient offensive weapon is his cacophonous voice, as a hypersonic shout that can level an entire city, and his merest whisper has been shown capable of stunning the Hulk. It’s even been suggested that his voice is capable of destroying an entire planet.7. The Flash
People who don’t know a lot about comic books often assume that the Flash can run really fast, but is otherwise a normal guy. He can turn his opponent into a statue, or phase his hand through his opponent’s head, causing it to explode. He is also impressively durable for a normal human, and most, though not all, of his impressive feats of durability have been while moving faster than normal. Many times he’s taken hits from Class-100 opponents, various energy blasts, ect. and ranged from quickly recovers to unfazed. Not only is Flash faster than Pre-CRISIS Kryptonians(and Silver Age Superman was so fast, not only count he travel through time and dimensions through speed, but he nearly broke the barrier between Life And Death and was about to crash into Heaven), but he’ll probably have a few examples of simply phasing through to avoid, as well. And Flash doesn’t need to cause the charge that causes matter to explode every time he vibrates through something.6. The Martian Manhunter
The Martian Manhunter’s chief super power is super strength. Super strength and durability. His two powers are super strength, durability and flight. His three powers are super strength, durability, flight and shapeshifting. Amongst his many powers are super strength, durability, flight and shapeshifting… I’ll come in again. The Martian Manhunter is basically the Swiss army knife of Superheroes. Along with all those powers, he has super speed and “Martian” vision, both at levels close to those of Superman himself. He not only can turn invisible but also alter his density to become incredibly strong, tough and ultimately intangible. In addition to his physical powers, J’onn is also a very powerful telepath. He also possesses 9 different senses, though these are ill defined and often forgotten by comic book writers. And if superhuman physical strength and mental powers aren’t enough, J’onn also has the ability to regenerate. In the past he’s even regenerated his entire body from only his severed hand.Pages: 1 2

ShadowHunter
I agree with most of Delta’s evaluation of ShadowHunter list. Only Rogue & Dr Strange has legitimate shot at fighting Superman and very iffy either could beat Superman. You might be able to include Cloak but I think is powers are too much at the writer discretion the whole light/darkness thing can be confusing. Everybody else on that list is laughable except Phoenix/Jean Grey I don’t agree with Delta’s evaluation of Phoenix. Per marvel universe bio Jean’s powers were magnified to near-infinite levels while she served as an avatar for the cosmic Phoenix Force. As far as the normal speed/durability/reflexes thing remember as Dark Phoenix she flew to another solar system where she made sun go super nova and was back before she was missed. She also mentally froze all X-men at once and keep them froze while fighting Prof X. I like Superman but he would not be much of a match for the Phoenix. I don’t believe her powers are being exaggeration. It’s the reason she consider to be too power for this list.
March 17th, 2010 at 9:53 pm
I think guy who made list not just Spiderman but X-men fan. But if you are looking for X-men as powerful as Superman you going to have a very so lists.
March 17th, 2010 at 9:54 pm
I meant very “short” list.
March 17th, 2010 at 10:17 pm
Well, maybe I am wrong but Superman beat someone stronger than Galactus : Anti-Monitor. Maybe I am wrong and if I am, please, explain.
March 17th, 2010 at 10:23 pm
Big Guns…..
Actually, Superman’s got a very impressive track record against beings and entities as powerful or beyond Phoenix, even when she was the full Phoenix Force avatar.
As to her going through a supernova, you are aware that she can manipulate the energy and use TK to protect herself from it, right? For flying there, she was also capable of manipulating space, so that doesn’t mean she traveled through pure speed. Superman’s traveled lightyears in seconds through pure speed. And his combat speed has been demonstrated as faster-than-light. So if Superman’s fighting seriously and exploiting his speed advantage, I see nothing to indicate he couldn’t just knock her out before she could react. Superman has been demonstrated to be faster thought, even when slower than he currently is.
And Superman has been able to do things like counter reality-manipulation from Dominus(who’s powerful enough to defeat then contain Kismit, DC’s equivalent to Eternity), he overcame a death god’s attempt to well, use death on Superman. Resisted the telepathy of a being who had something like the strength of a galaxy’s worth of sentinents or something like that powering his telepathy, and more. So Superman very well could resist her telepathy(even if he weren’t avoiding it through speed), or use that plot-device Torquasm Vo for God knows what.
But I was mostly arguing for the more typical version of Jean Grey, who either channeled only a small part of the Phoenix Force or not at all, since those are the more common showings of her. And her chances aren’t all that great, as I’ve shown Superman’s WELL experience dealing with powerful psionics, like Maxima, various Martians, Brainiac, Manchester Black and more.
March 17th, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Anti-Monitor from Crisis of Infinite earth was way more powerful than Superman and probably as powerful as Galactus at (full power). Remember Galactus power does go up & down depending on his enegry level. I believe a low power Galactus was defeated by the Avengers if I remember right. Galactus at normal power level still a lot more power then superman.
Now their may be weaker verison of anti monitor since crisis which Superman have defeat single hand. I would have to defer to Delta’s knowledge on that. He is the wizard on Superman feats.
March 17th, 2010 at 9:40 pm
Yeah Nothandler, and prove how Thor would ruin everyone.
March 17th, 2010 at 10:45 pm
Big Guns…..
I’d have to say Anti-Monitor during CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS was at least a bit above a well-fed Galactus. From what I can recall, his worst showing during there was being beaten near to death by Supergirl, a PRE-CRISIS Kryptonian, which are ridiculously powerful, and still killed her. I’d have to go through CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS again and might.
I actually can’t think of Superman having faced Anti-Monitor Post-CRISIS, but there was probably some encounter.
Emperor Joker is perhaps the most powerful Entity Superman’s faced. How he beat him wasn’t through force, though the beating Superman took, including his heart literally being ripped-out at the end, and still not being completely stopped, was quite impressive.
March 17th, 2010 at 5:47 am
okay this list has changed last time i checked surfer was #2 and now he is #3 well i thins supes should be #1
March 17th, 2010 at 2:57 pm
Hey Delta is this new list that you was refering to are is there even more changes to come?
March 17th, 2010 at 6:13 pm
Big Guns…..
No, there’s more additions to come. A couple characters are being removed, some others are being added, and who’s staying is getting a bit of a reordering that hasn’t already been done.
Not sure if I’m supposed to tell the details, though Zeromage already mentioned Flash being added when making a comment on the Thor VS Superman article.
March 17th, 2010 at 7:59 pm
Thanks for info Delta.
March 17th, 2010 at 8:35 pm
Wow I just read the entire comments and Delta’s comments are very good.
Yes Superman IS The Number One and he always will be, and I hope that in 2013 when the contract resets WB and DC takes Superman again, I dont want to see Superman in other Comics except DC :’(
and LOL @ the authors no 1 hero, Thor??
March 17th, 2010 at 9:08 pm
Whoever thinks Thor is the most powerful character in comic books clearly doesn’t know too much about comics. Superman is more than a match for Thor, and pretty much anyone else on this list. The author of this list is a moron. Plain and simple. Here’s the real list:
1. Superman
2. Wonder Woman
3. Green Lantern
4. Martian Manhunter
5. The Flash
6. Batman
7. Silver Surfer
8. Reed Richards
9. Thor
10. Hulk
March 17th, 2010 at 10:58 pm
Delta, you must really like Superman. I’m not up on all the feats that you listed, but just about every feat of these that I am familiar with, you’re conveniently leaving out critical information.
Most of the things you’ve named are either narrative hyperbole or PIS, and Superboy Prime isn’t a Pre-Crisis Kryptonian, given that his feats are shit compared to them. Not only that but Superboy Prime was also weakened by that treatment.
Let me put it to you this way. Superman’s strength is around moon moving, his speed and reaction time are near light, and his durability is such that he can shrug off nukes and survive at least a planet buster or two without dying.
Superman withstood a punch from Superboy Prime. Superboy Prime is so strong that he changed time, as a SIDE-EFFECT of punching his way out of a dimension.
I’m fairly sure you’re neglecting to mention that Superboy Prime was in the perfect position to alter time with his punches, and so this feat doesn’t count for strength. Not to mention Superboy Prime’s feats were inconsistent as hell in that comic IIRC.
JLA #77 Superman contains a miniature black hole in his hands and keeps it from expanding. He then, after a magnetic field keeps it from expanding, throws it. So he throws something with the mass of a star.
So you forgot the part where Green Lantern was essential to this all happening?
He withstood an energy blast from Imperiex Prime himself
Wasn’t that the madly inconsistent Imperiex (Reminded me of Firelord vs Spiderman)? Not only that, but Imperiex Prime is not shown to be consistently equal to Galactus.
March 17th, 2010 at 3:17 am
Also, you do realize other people have surived the Omega Beam, right?
Mary Marvel had the omega beams bounce right off her body, does that make her more powerful than Superman?
March 17th, 2010 at 5:19 am
I love Batman, he’s one of my favorites. But no way would he be in the top 10 most powerful superheroes. I’m thinking maybe in the Top 100. He’s DC’s version of Iron Man, and Iron Man’s marvels version of Batman. Tony Starks got better more efficient artillary, more flamboyant and probably a lil’ richer than Bruce Wayne, but Bruce Wayne is like a super, super, duper genius. Plus, he’s a lethally dangerous fighter, as where Tony Starks (without his Iron Man suit) would be in trouble. I would put them both in the same league (Along with Spider-Man, Black Canary, Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and the 2005 movie version of Elektra). I’d love to see these two go at it. Batman (himself) is no match for The Iron Man suit as where Tony Starks can fight more dangerous opponents in it, but Batman’s intelligance is dangerous as he would probably eventually outsmart him. Anyway here are my 10 most powerful superheroes. And there not just restricted to Marvel and DC.
1. The Hulk: To this date, I don’t know nothin’ that can fuck wit’ The Hulk as he continually get stronger and stronger wit’ his anger.
2. Thor/Superman:(tie) N all tha’ incarnations I know about The Hulk vs. Thor, Thor got his ass kicked as the Hulk just got madder and madder and more stronger and invincible. Since Thor’s a God, it seems 2 me like he should be more powerful. N the 2007 New Avengers movie, The Hulk even managed 2 pick up Thor’s hammer and hit him wit’ it…Whut wuz up wit’ that?
3. The Silver Surfer
4. The Green Lantern: (better hope that ring don’t run outta power or he’s assed out rather it’s Hal Jordan, John Stewart or whoever)
5. The Transformers
6. J’onn J’onzz the Martian Manhunter
7. The Fantastic Four
8. Namor The Submariner/Captain Marvel: I really don’t like Captain Marvel. I think he’s a Superman cop-out. Plus, when he turns into Catain Marvel, he still has the mindstate of his nine, ten (or however old he is) year-old alter-ego. A disadvantage that tha’ average adult superhero would use against him. But I try not 2 B bias, I do C sum potential here.
9. He-Man: Remember him? In tha’ original 1980’s series, I felt like his stanima never really matched his physical strength, which at times I felt were a lil’ exaggerated, along with She-Ra’s, with whom the creator’s tried 2 hard 2 put on the same level with He-Man. I thought it was so corny tha’ way he wuz’ able 2 move tha’ entire planet of Eternia in a coupla’ episodes I saw. But I think he would just barley B able to edge out Wonder Woman (A traditional, old school superhero that can really, really take beatings, almost at Superman’s level of stanima).
10. Wonder Woman/Super-girl/She-Ra: In that exact order. After all these years, the Amazing Amazon is still the top superheroine in the competitive world of comic book fiction. I especially liked her in the Justice League cartoon several years back, in which they allowed her 2 fly.
Other notable runner-ups that almost made my list includes:
The ThunderCats (Back in 80’s, Lion-O’s Sword of Omens put He-Man’s Sword Of Power to shame, but strength and power wise, tha’ courageous anthropomorphic felines just didn’t make tha’ top 10 grade)
Only certain X-Men: Professor Xavier, Colossus, Storm, Jean Grey (not as the Phoenix, whom I would list as a top 20 villain) and tha’ comic book/90’s cartoon version of Rogue, not the movie version. The female X-Men seemed 2 B more powerful and better flushed out than tha’ men. I like Wolverine, but he’s so overrated, and all the above-mentioned superheroes would kick his ass).
Marvel’s Ghost Rider and DC’s The Demon Etrigan. Even though they channel their powers from hell. Heaven (not Greek God Heaven or Asgard) and hell are the ultimate universal gates of good and evil. No matter what galaxy or dimension you’re from, there’s only one heaven and hell, and in superhero anthology, the greatest powers you can have still comes from those two sources.
The Flash
Mighty Mouse: Many people don’t think to include him cuz he’s been played out for many years (I haven’t seen a Mighty Mouse short in almost 25 years myself), but he had a nice lil’ assortment of powers for a lil’ anthropomorphic mouse. Even though he’s an old fashioned Terry Toons Animation character, he can easily roll with the Justice League, or in other established superhero organization in Marvel or DC’s superhero universe. And just like the Flash is super fast, he’s super small and fast and you’ll never see him coming.
The G.I. JOE team, The Silverhawks (Remember them, the 80’s space opera that resembled the ThunderCats) and finally Wolverine
March 17th, 2010 at 1:44 pm
Hulk is (or can be) the most powerful of all because of his dynamic power. And he’s indisputably the strongest char in Marvel or Dc.
He is stronger than Thor, for Thor’s admission (Hulk annual 2001)

I am sorry for you Pain but does Hulk has the speed of Superman? Breath? Vision? Can fly? His Strenght (Because he killed Doomsdays who is way stronger than Hulk, that’s my opinion), etc..? God, Superman got way more advantages than Hulk. Hulk, I gotta admit, is strong in close battles but Superman can be good in Long-Range and Close. That would be a long fight but Superman would win.
March 17th, 2010 at 4:24 pm
Hello superman can travel faster than the speed of light.and can even move the largest star in the universe 300,000lightyers in a milisecond and can’t be caught by Thor it should be the first one
March 17th, 2010 at 9:43 pm
Captain Marvel should be above Superman. I recall when Superman once saw Captain Marvel get hit with something that turned his entire body inside out ray, including internal organs, and survive. Superman noted he himself could not survive such a thing.
March 17th, 2010 at 4:19 am
@Red Pain
Wow, some of the scans are really impresive
I have seen a lot of the Hulk feats you posted, but “The Hulk and Ironclad collide, sending concussive force throughout countless dimensions! IH #305″
Is pretty impresive.
I personally believe Hulk is the strongest in Marvel, not the most POWERFUL, but the STRONGEST.
March 17th, 2010 at 6:23 am
Captain Marvel is all about ”Shazam”. He is strong but he doesn’t have Supes strenght. Believe me.
March 17th, 2010 at 5:14 pm
1. Red Hulk (he took down a Watcher, Silver Surfer, and Odin-Force Thor)
2. World War Hulk (he has defeated Sentry, Dr. Strange, Black Bolt, and Iron Man in Hulk Buster Armour) -Recall Iron Man fought Thor with Thor Buster Armor. Also REGULAR HULK regularly curb-stomps Thor. Imagine WWH….
3. Dr. Manhattan (Can you say “omnipotent”?)
4. Odin Force Thor
5. Gladiator (punches through Planets, survives Supernovas, and travels across the galaxy in mere seconds) He is far ahead of regular thor, but I think Odin Force Thor might be a bit much. Needless to say, 3 and 4 are nearly a tie. Odin Force Thor probably takes 6 out of 10 against Glads though.
6. Sentry (Most powerful Human in the universe. Again, he’d be ahead of regular Thor)
7. Silver Surfer / Beta Ray Bill (Surfer is above Bill, but only by a little)
8. Dr. Strange / Dr. Fate (Dr. Strange is slightly above Dr. Fate here)
9. Black Bolt
10. Captain Marvel (Waaay above Superman) The magic factor makes him an easy choice for #10.
March 17th, 2010 at 5:18 pm
And Sentry has stalemated Galactus. He should be #1.
March 17th, 2010 at 5:22 pm
Sorry, Superman beats Red Hulk any day.

Red Hulk? If ever there was an evident case of a writer being so uncreative and starved for attention it would be Loeb’s creation of the Red Hulk. Loeb mindlessly loads Rulk with absurd feats and thinks that in doing so he’s developing a character readers want to see.
I mean really, who attacks the Watcher? That was perhaps the dumbest comic moment ever. Oh wait, no,
I digress, Rulk curb stomping an Odin-Forced Thor by stripping him of and beating him with his own hammer in space (Hey Loeb, its not that the Hammer weighs a tremendous amount, its a magical spell) was the dumbest moment ever.
Oh wait, Rulk stripping Silver Surfer of the Power Cosmic with his new and undescribed (not that it matters, its just horrid writing) energy manipulation powers was the worst– or was it Rulk beating a universal elder to death. (Sigh)
Please, Rulk is so new and poorly written ( I know thats a matter of taste but please, bad is bad) that he should be excluded from every and all lists intended to rank power scales.
March 17th, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Giant Chicken from Family Guy > Rulk
March 17th, 2010 at 11:21 pm
General Grievous : Imperiex is so called the Big Bang. He’s ahead of Galactus and the fast that Superman survived it’s blast and that Doomsday died from it is showing us how strong Supes is.
March 17th, 2010 at 11:21 pm
And sorry for people who don’t agree but Doomdays is way stronger than Hulk.

Haha. Okay, Shadowhunter. So because he’s been called the Big Bang, he is ahead of Galactus? You should learn what Hyperbole is, man. And no, Superman surviving his blast, shows how weak Imeriex is, not how strong Superman is. Galactus’s full powered blast would erase Superman from existence.
To defeat Imperiex, Superman merged with and elemental being of some kind (I can’t remember the being’s name, it was a she and she seemed to wear superman energy costume). They merged and flew through Imperiex, Darkseid used his Omega beams too, so much that he was physically weaken to a level…… that he was the weakest I’ve seen him for a long time, GL (Kyle) held in Imperiex’s energy so it wouldn’t destroy the galaxy or dcu or whatever.
(Later on we find out that Imperiex wasn’t actually destroyed all that happen was that his armour was destroyed and his energy was released with his consciousness (which B13 absorbed))
Here Uatu The Watcher states: “For of all who inhibit the universe, only Galactus has power enough to match my own!“ (which makes Red Hulk knocking him out even more ridiulous)

This is one of the most impressive displays of Galactus’s power and status in the Marvel Universe. Without effort, he travels to Eternity’s realm, takes upon the form of star and greets Eternity. They speak with each other, and in the end…shake hands, as equals. How many people shake hands with Eternity? Not many, I can tell you. That’s pretty awesome scene.

More. Reed Richards states that Galactus’s boundless hunger can’t be satiated. And as Galactus, who can absorb limitless amounts of energy, meets Hyperstorm, limitless source of energy, Galactus could theoretically keep absorbing him for eternity, as Reed says. But obviously Galactus returns, so Hyperstorm wasn’t truly limitless and Galactus absorbed him dry, or he took care of Hyperstorm in another way.

@General Grievous
When Superman Survived the PRIME IMPEREX blast He was not fused with strange visitor.
Superman survived where Doosday got killed
Is there any scan of Thor Surviving a full powered Galactus blast?
If you have it, can you post it?
March 17th, 2010 at 5:18 am
I don’t have time today to see all of the galactus scans. I will finish tomorrow
But that clap did not look for Beta, I guess the result will be close to the same if He performs the clap on Thor.
Meaning: a full force Galactus blast will desintegrate Thor
Am I wrong?

Thor withstands multiple blasts from Arishem, then knocks him on his ass, and still has enough strength to lift and throw the Odinsword through Arishem

Alberto, that’s the point I’m making. Galactus is so far above Imperiex its ridiculous. And Thor is more powerful than Beta Ray Bill…but even still, Galactus could disentegrate BBR, Thor or Superman with barely a second thought.
March 17th, 2010 at 9:05 pm
I do agree full power Galactus is more powerful then any one superhero in Marvel or DC. There are many example where Marvel state & shows power of Galactus. Eternity & Death both treat Galactus as equal no other being/entity has that relation with both them. Truly beside handful cosmic being in Marvel or DC very few could survive or battle fully load Galactus.
I’m tired of people trying said Beta Ray Bill is more powerful then Thor. Thor is god which gives him certain level of invincible that Beta Ray Bill don’t have. Thor has godly force allow him do thing Beta Ray can’t do. Thor can do the godblast/warrior rage & control weather and there no comparison if thown in Odinforce with Thor powers.
March 17th, 2010 at 11:37 pm
Hmm I really think Galactus would be no match against Superboy Prime.
March 17th, 2010 at 3:39 am
Wow! wow! wow!
Not too fast General I agree that Galactus could defeat Imperex Prime but He is not FAR ABOVE.
The only reason why Galactus will be the victor is because he has survived the end of the universe before.
Now on the cosmic entyties in Marvel Galactus is BELOW The-One-Above-All (not the celestial), the Living Tribunal and Eternity, if Eternity respects him is because Eternity sees Galactus as a “brother” but He is Below Eternity and that was proven in the INFINITY GAUNTLET SAGA.
Plus Galactus has a “weakness” the others don’t
If Galactus is not feed he can be defeted and We have seen that in the past (too many times if you ask me)
But yes a full powered Galactus is something that needs to be respected as well as an Imperex Prime
They are not pushovers.
Everytime this type of guys loose a battle against smaller beigns is because they don’t see the smaller beigns as a threat, pretty much like me steping into an ant mount and staying there until is too late.
I also believe that a Hungry Galactus can be defeted by Superman or Superboy Prime. I mean If Thor can do it, Why Superman can’t?
March 17th, 2010 at 4:06 am
@General Grievous
Ok a few more things
Superboy Prime and Earth 2 Superman (Kal-l)
Both are Pre-Crisis Kryptonians
They are the same guys who survived the Infinite earths saga, THE SAME.
On the black hole thing with lantern helping
Delta never left critical information out
Superman did in fact contained the black hole from expanding and THEN lantern help him to move it, to the worm hole site, then Superman created ENOUGH Static Electricity to cantain the black hole then Lantern apply magnetism to corral it into a field and THEN Superman THROW the black hole into the wormhole
The feat still stands as Superman Containing a mini black hole, with his hands and then with static electricity generated by him
And as Superman lifting and Throwing a mini black hole
On Superboy Prime altering reality with his punches
I don’t think He was in the perfect place to do it, Even Alexander Luthor is surprised when he sees the results. They were not even on the time stream.
March 17th, 2010 at 8:32 am
Son Goku of the Dragon Ball comics. Draws on power from his love for all that is good and true. Gets stronger after every near death experience. Does not need to be close to you at all to deliver a fatal energy blast. Can sense your power easily when you are planets away and obviously out of vision, even on alternate worlds (planet Kai). Has ’super speed’, immense strength (obviously not anything near superman), can fly and has been brought back to life. Cannot survive in space.
March 17th, 2010 at 3:05 pm
1. Gladiator (No other non-cosmic level character has feats that compare to his)
2. World War Hulk (tough call here, because regular Hulk once beat Gladiator…proof that Hulk could absolutely crush Superman. But I think Glads feats still warrant him being #1)
3. Sentry (This guy is basically a skyfather. He would destroy the Surfer, Thor and Superman all at once)
4. Dr. Manhattan (part of me wanted him to be #1)
5. Silver Surfer
6. Thor (if he still had the Odin Force, he’d be tied for #4 with Dr. Manhattan, just behind the Sentry)
7. Captain Marvel (6, 7, and 8 are almost a tie in my book)
8. Iron Man (with Hulk Buster armor)
9. Superman
10. Supergirl (she’s constantly been shown to be stronger and a more powerful hero than her older cousin, BUT…Superman is more well known, so I’ll put him ahead…just barely. In another year she’ll probably be #9 and I’ll push Supes down to #10)
Honorable mentions: Beta Ray Bill – Honestly I think he would beat Superman, but he’s not well known enough.
March 17th, 2010 at 3:17 pm
How is Red Hulk not on this list??????? Are we forgetting he knocked out the Watcher? (Who Galactus said was as powerful as he is). Or Thor with Odin Force? Or KILLED the Silver Surfer??????? Took on all the Avengers. Stomped even the Hulk? Red Hulk is #1!
March 17th, 2010 at 3:51 pm
Rablex : We’re not talking about Dragon Ball here. They can’t even be considered as Superheroes.
Alberto : If you think Galactus would beat Imperiex Prime, what about The Anti-Monitor?
March 17th, 2010 at 4:01 pm
General Grievous : For the thing that Galactus can kill Superman in a sec, you are totaly wrong. Thor managed to beat him and still Superboy-Prime (Who’s way more powerful than Thor and Superman), got his ass kicked by Supes. If Thor can beat your ”Galactus”, Supes can certainly beat him too. Supes survived the blast of The Imperiex Prime, the same blast who killed Doomsday (became a pile of ashes) and beat The Anti-Monitor. Do I have to give you the name of more villains that he managed to beat? Emperor Joker, Superboy-Prime, DarkSeid, Mongul, Bizarro, etc..
March 17th, 2010 at 4:33 pm
#1. Under no circumstances should Thor ever have been able to beat Galactus. Spiderman has beat Firelord. Do you think Spiderman is equal to a herald of Galactus? If you look at his feats, Galactus would destroy Superman, Superboy Prime, and Thor all at once with little effort.
#2. How is someone being able to beat Bizarro supposed to mean he can beat Galactus? And Darkseid has been getting his ass beat a lot lately. Emperor Joker and Imperiex Prime are no match for Galactus either. I’ve already posted arguments why on the Superman vs Thor article.
March 17th, 2010 at 5:56 pm
Bizarro is supposed to be weak? lol? He is as strong as Superman is. I pretty sure Galactus would get beat by Superboy Prime. Do I have to say more since he’s Pre-Crisis and he’s wearing almost the same armor that the Anti-Monitor was wearing?
