Johnny Marr is the best guitarist in the history of indie, granted, that's kind of like being the best Uwe Boll movie, but the man has a gift for melody, and his gangly, upbeat guitar goes well with Morissey's lyrics.

Few things sound as pretty as Marr's guitar, while not above Hendrix or Page, he deserves a place purely for proving that an indie musician can be an actual musician, with an ear for actual tunes, and a style unto himself.

If you are looking for great innovators look at Les Paul. His style influenced a whole genration of guitarist, but they weren't around then, and they don't even know the way they are playing came from him. HE INVENTED THE SOLID BODY GUITAR AND DESIGNED HIS OWN MODEL. I look at the pictures above, and quess what they are playing? The Les Paul guitar which Gibson has been making for years. Les is gone now, but his legacy lives on.

I am going to answer a question here. Where is the nut on an Esteban guitar? On many round hole guitars, including classicals. If you hold up the guitar and look down the neck from the sound hole and then look into the sound hole the nut is right under the neck. That is were you adjust it. Don't adjust it until you know why and how to adjust it. As for myself, I use a very good man who knows what he is doing. He does it. Also, get yourself a good teacher. Esteban's guitars are made in China. I have one amoung my many expensive guitars, and I don't have trouble with it. No, it is not a great guitar, China does not have the great craftsmen that the better guitar makers do. It is designed for the begenning student, who thinks they would like to learn the guitar. If your a beginner, you shouldn't go out and invest thousands of dollars for a Gibson, Fender, Martin etc. Later you can invest in a medium priced guitar as you become more advanced and you have decided to stick with it and play. Most of Esteban's guitar's are not great guitars, but they get the job done for beginners. If something breaks anywhere on that guitar through no fault of your own contact his company, and I am sure they will replace it. I will not give my list of top 10 guitarist because I can't. They all have their own styles, and what kind of music they play. The names I gave before were not listed as 1-10. They were just guitarist that pop out of my head. Everyone will give their own opinion of their top 10. There were great guitarist 300 years ago who were inovaters and over time the guitar has come into it's own as a great musical instrament. Good luck with your playing and enjoy it.

There is no top 10 guitarists. You laugh at my list. Can you play as good as the guitarist on my list? I could add a 100 guitarist to my list. And you couldn't even begin to play as good as these guitarists. Unless you play as good, keep your mouth shut. Look them up for their profile and read about them.

Esteban made for some great high nights in college. Waiting until the Esteban commercials at 2 in the morning. It takes a certain type of man to list Esteban to as a great guitarist. This lack of taste that knows no boundaries is to be applauded. I'm laughing my ass off at this last list!

Chet Atkins
Less Paul
Andre Sigovia
Tom Bruner
John Williams
Mel Bay
Esteban(stage name)
Glen Cambell
Wes Montgomery
Charlie Byrd
Mary Ford
Micky Blake
There are many more, but my mind slips me. Stop and consider other players that are not Rock guitarists and the list goes on and on.
