Thor vs. Superman
The Mighty Thor and Superman are the heavy-hitters of Marvel and DC respectively, each of them arguably the most powerful hero in their respective universes. So its natural that this is without question the most discussed versus debate amongst comic book fans. No other versus battle comes close to being talked about as much than this one. Try to start a “Superman vs Thor” thread on any forum and the first response is sure to be: “Not this again”.Some of you may remember our “Top 10 Most Powerful Superheroes” list that we released a while back, where we made the controversial claim that Thor was the most powerful superhero of all time (Superman coming in at number three on that list). Months later we are still receiving emails either agreeing with us, or flaming us for that decision. Many fans cite Superman’s speed as the deciding factor in any fight between the two behemoths. Other emails claim that Thor’s magical powers would be enough to stop the man of steel in his tracks. So, the natural question is, do we still stand by our claim that Thor is more powerful than Superman? The answer is still “yes.” In this article we’ll break down the seven most common arguments and give you our take on them.
1. Super Strength
The claim has often been made that Superman is stronger than Thor. Many times on versus forums threads this claim is accepted as a given by both sides of the debate. We don’t concede that the Man of Steel is physically stronger than the god of thunder though. Thor has performed feats such as lifting the World Serpent, and once hurled the Odinsword, an enormous mystical blade, through a Celestial! Thor has also single-handedly matched the strength of the Hulk on numerous occasions (the Marvel Universe’s strongest character). Not only that but Thor is capable of entering into a state known as the “Warrior’s Madness”, which will temporarily increase his strength tenfold. Some of these feats have no true equivalent in the DC universe. We think at the very least, the two character’s physical strength is equal.
2 . Super Speed
This is Superman’s one true advantage in this fight. Superman is fast. We’re talking warp speed fast. We’re talking once around the entire planet and back before you can blink fast. You could easily make the argument that Thor would be lucky if he even saw Superman before he got pounded. But is Thor as slow as everyone seems to think? Unknown to many DC fanboys Thor can throw his hammer at the speed of light (See Thor#140, Thor#274). He can also swing it at TWICE the speed of light (Journey Into Mystery#102). In Thor -#393- it’s established that the speed of Thor’s hammer TRANSCENDS both TIME & SPACE. In addition Thor can appear anywhere across the Universe or other dimensions in just seconds (see- FF#339, and Thor#166). And, most importantly, Thor could, visually, detect objects that move at fantastic speeds (this happened when Thor was the target of artillery fire- see Invaders#33- and Avengers-#281- when he saw the speedy Hermes. And yes, I do need a life). Now if we accept that Superman can move at 99% of the speed of light, and that Thor can swing his hammer at twice the speed of light, it stands to reason that big blue is in some trouble. It’s true that Thor doesn’t use his super speed abilities often, but how many times have you seen Superman not use his super speed when he should have?
3. Stanima
Who can take more punishment, Thor or Superman? This is a difficult question. Thor has withstood a blast from Asgardian Destroyer. Superman has withstood a direct hit from a nuclear bomb. Thor has taken everything the Hulk could dish out. Thor also once took a glancing hit by a Doomsday Bomb that was capable of destroying an entire planet, and soon after that explosion he fell from space (leaving a crater miles wide) to a planet called Pangoria-see Thor#387. Thor has also taken everything that Gladiator (an arguably more powerful version of Superman) could dish out. Both characters have come back from the dead a couple of times. In my mind this one is a draw. Both characters have approximately the same stanima. The difference is Superman has weaknesses (i.e. Kryptonite, Magic, and the fact he is powerless without yellow sunlight) whereas Thor pretty much doesn’t.
4. Magic
Even the most diehard Superman fan would concede that Thor’s magical abilities would be an advantage for Thor. First, I would like to note that just because an opponent can wield magic, it in no way guarantees a win over the last son of Krypton. Superman has defeated countless magic users in the past, and so I have no illusions that just because Thor has magic powers and a magic hammer that he would automatically own Superman. That being said magic is just as lethal against Supes as kryptonite. Superman has no defense against it, and it can affect him greatly. Superman getting pounded by Mjolnir is the same as you and me getting pounded by a normal hammer. And consider the guy who’s swinging it. It’s Thor. The god of thunder. Not only that, but Thor’s lightning is magical too. Remember that just a single lightning bolt is equivalent to 15,000,000 volts of electricity and could travel over 224,000 miles an hour. The clear advantage here goes to Thor.
5. Super Powers
Before Thor inherited the Odinforce, the super powers of these two heroes were a little more even. Now there is absolutely no contest. Thor has a clear edge over Superman here. His magical hammer gives Thor the ability to control the weather, the ability to fly; energy projection and absorption; dimensional apertures; matter manipulation, as well as the most powerful of his offensive powers: the God Blast, and the Anti-Force. Superman is no push over in this department either, with the already mentioned super strength, super speed, as well as heat vision, x-ray vision, enhanced senses, and the ability to blow hurricane force winds from his mouth. But what is that compared to being able to summon an actual hurricane? Not only that but with the Odinforce Thor was then capable of feats such as reconstructing the Earth’s Moon, willing the Asgardian monster Mangog into nothingness, and by focusing his entire power into a hammer throw that even decapitated a Desak-occupied Asgardian Destroyer. Having accepted his heritage as the son of the earth goddess Gaea, he has recently been shown to be capable of opening chasms in the earth itself, and who knows what other abilities he’ll be displaying now that he’s done that.
6. Superman beat Thor in the Avengers / DC Crossover
I don’t want to spend much time on this one. Most fans of comics know how much weight we should give to crossovers. Besides, I personally have no doubt that Superman would beat Galactus in a crossover. He’s DC’s flagship character after all. Enough said on that one.
7. Thor has Thousands of Years of Combat Experience
This is a common argument used by Thor fans to claim that Thor would take down Superman. It seems fairly obvious. If I somehow gained super powers and a Viking Warrior somehow gained the exact same or nearly equivalent powers, most people would put their money on the Viking if we fought each other. Now imagine the Viking warrior was thousands of years older than me, and had been using his powers for all those thousands of years to battle trolls, giants, demons, robots, aliens, and gods, and I have only been using my powers for 20-30 years. It seems clear to me that the Viking Warrior god has a clear cut advantage over me in a fight. Again advantage Thor.
It seems obvious to me that Thor has a clear advantage over Superman in a fight. I don’t think that Thor is so powerful that there is no way that Superman could ever defeat him. But I believe that the majority of the time Thor would beat Superman in a one on one fight, assuming its not a fight to the death. If it is a fight to the death, then I think Thor would almost invariably win. So there you have it, the definitive answer to one of the most talked about and controversial debates in comic book nerdom. Brought to you by your pals at Old-Wizard.com.

Cry more Adam. Cry more kid. Transform INTO HULK AND MAKE OUT WITH YOUR SHE-HULK!
March 19th, 2010 at 4:12 am
Hulk only stopped himself. Otherwise, there would be no more earth…no more heroes…and Thor is only lucky he wasn’t there to get humiliated like a little bitch. Much like I’ve done to Delta!
March 19th, 2010 at 4:13 am
Why don’t you show a scan of WWH getting beat? Because you can’t. LOL. You’re pathetic, kid.
March 19th, 2010 at 4:18 am
Superboy Prime isn’t strong? He’s owning Sodam Yat, alias Ion (A powerful Cosmic being capable of owning both Thor and WWH).

March 19th, 2010 at 4:39 am
@Adam
What makes you think WHH is so powerful? What has he done that was so amazing? He stalemated The Sentry, defeated a skrull Black Bolt, defeated Doctor Strange who let himself be defeated, and I guess defeated Ironman and Reed if you consider them as feats.
And in the Rulk storyline, you do know that after Thor came back, he smacked Rulk around, but was stopped by A-Bomb who said the Hulk needed to regain his honor, right?
The story arc was God-awful, anyhow.
March 19th, 2010 at 5:32 am
@Rick and Thorion
Wow, that really show me How pathetic is Superman.
I can’t imagine how I was on the wrong side all this time.
Superman is really a weakling
I guess anyone defeated by Superman is EVEN WORSE
If Superman who is a pussy, can and in fact has defeated Thor. What will that make out of Thor?

I APOLOGIZE TO ANY SERIOUS COMIC OR THOR FAN, But

@ADAM
Sorry Adam
I have seem pretty impresive things done by the Hulk, he could be a planetary treath, but He needs to get enraged, in order to do that.
and he is outclased with this guys.
The RULK incident with The Watcher. The Watcher did not even put up a fight, The WHOLE “fight” was crap.
Watcher did not even fought back!!! Becasue they are WATCHERS!!!
Answer me this
What happened when RULK went against Galactus?
EXACTLY!!! OWNED COMPLETELLY, You know why?
Because Galactus is not a pacifist like the Watcher
WWH did not shown anything out of the ordinary.
HULK always does that type of things.
He is close to enter the list but not top 10, maybe top 20 or 15, but not top 10
March 19th, 2010 at 6:07 am
The Celestials are beings who trump any other beings.I tried using my Geiger Counter to measure the stats on 1 of these beings that Thor faced in the past & they shorted out my device in the process.We all know they made skyfathers like Zeus & Odin look like Ants.This is the Stats what appeared in my Geiger Counter before it was destroyed.
http://marvel.com/images/85295.Celestials_Card_156/from/content.story.1066
My Geiger Counter could not get an exact number on their stats that it registered “Not Applicable.”Their power is so immense that no device could give an exact number.Thor survived a blast from these Cosmic Behemoths.This proves Thor is a lot more durable than we think.
This is a public reminder to stay away from the Celestials.Thank you & have a Nice Day!!!
March 19th, 2010 at 4:57 pm
You kno its been a minute since i been on this form so im doing a little catching up. This would probly be the first time ever siding with delta. But adam what is you smoking Hulk has had his ass handed to him a couple times by Thor. Two Thor would’ve have killed Rulk by himself if Hulk didnt interupt do you not remember that panel in the comic book, thor aloud hulk to finish the fight because hulk wanted to stop him and Rulk said himself thor would have killed me. Sentry is no match for WWH..i pity da fool who says that. They tied in that fight and both were k.o.’d. And Superman could take on the hulk. Superman has faced touger(doomsday).
March 19th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
Adam, I still haven’t finished catching-up on the other article to start catching-up on here, but even my detractor Caison is asking what you’re smoking.
So, I give numerous examples of Thor beating Hulk, and you show ONE PAGE from ONE FIGHT that has Hulk looking good at that particular moment? How does that prove a fucking thing? Hulk withstands a throw from Mjolnir, is annoyed by Thor’s Old English-based shit-talking, talks some shit himself and punches Thor away. And we see nothing to show the fight’s actually, ya know, OVER.
So, how have I been owned?
March 19th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
@ Adam … Dude , this is a superman vs thor page so you can get off or stay on topic. Second didn’t Superman already beat hulk in a crossover and if not he could. Superman beat doomsday:a virtually indestructable force. Now I don’t know about Thor but I bet he could nock him out with his hammer that he swings faster than light. So next time you come on a random chat page talking about Hulk, make shore it isn’t this one!
@ Thor fans I wasted all my time writing to Adam so i’ll be back…. and oh yeah, who won in the Superman vs Thor crossover? Just wanted to make shore you didn’t forget!
March 19th, 2010 at 3:43 pm
WWH takes Superman and Thor at once in a stomp.
Greg Pak himself said Hulk is more powerful than Thor or Superman.
March 19th, 2010 at 4:32 pm
@Adam
Yesterday I saw an interview where Grant Morrison says FLASH can kill the HULK in a FEMTO-SECOND.
Grant Morrison himself said Flash is more powerful than WWH, SUPERMAN, THOR and GALACTUS put together.
March 19th, 2010 at 8:18 pm
Grant Morrison also wrote Final Crisis, the wackiest comic event ever.
That being said, Mr Morrison could tell me fire is hot and I would have trouble believing him.
Of course he is going to say something like that, he has a hard on for Flash.
Grant Morrison: “Flash > Galactus” Yeah…Ok…Sure
March 19th, 2010 at 10:51 pm
@Jesse
The Grant Morrison example was just to show Adam, that whatever Greg Pak says about the Hulk, has no weight whatsoever.
You actually believe that Grant Morrison said something like that?
Wow kid, It was just and example.
March 19th, 2010 at 11:51 pm
Adam = Hulks boyfriend.
March 19th, 2010 at 8:03 am
Using good logic and reason it is easy to know that Superman would win against Thor rather easily. This is because of their huge speed difference. Superman at his fastest will have Thor appearing to be a statue. Superman can literally combo Thor to ko for the win everytime.
Does Thor have the tools to ko or kill Superman? Yes he does. Will Thor get a chance to use those tools in the fight? No! Speeds Kill!!
March 19th, 2010 at 2:29 pm
I can’t believe this is even being debated. Thor would curb stomp Superman.
Also, if Thor can swing his hammer twice the speed of light, and Superman’s speed on earth is limited to Sub-Light speed…you do the math. A magic hammer is going to pound Superman into oblivion.
If Thor was using his full powers, he’d simply teleport Superman into the middle of a Red Sun. Or teleport him to the remains of Krypton.
Batman, a normal human, has defeated or slowed down Superman on several occasions.
Superman has been shown on panel to be tied for strength with Captain Marvel! Neither one can win in armwrestling. GL has outraced him. He’s been KO’ed for 1/2 hour after being hit with 1 measely nuke.
Thor has fought in the core of the Sun!!!!!!!!!!
Also, let’s not forget what Black Adam did to Superman, using magic. Now imagine THOR doing that! This fight is a joke.
Let’s look at Superman’s cast of villians:
Toymaster
Prankster
Lex Luthor
Metallo
March 19th, 2010 at 2:47 pm
I agree. This should not even be a fight. Thor would completely own Superman.
Here are some scenerios:
1) Fight in space: Superman can’t breath. Advantage Thor.
2) Fight near a Red Star. Advantage Thor.
3) Fight on Earth. Superman can’t go too fast or else he destroys everything. Thor can still swing his hammer x3 speed of light (not x2 as the above poster claims)
4) Asgard: Advantage Thor
5) Anywhere away from a yellow Sun: advantage Thor
6) Underwater: Thor has overpowered NAMOR underwater…easily I might add. Plus, Superman can’t breath again. Advantage Thor.
March 19th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
Gary : ”Cough” Marvel Fanboy ”Cough” . Toymaster, Prankster, Lex Luthor and Metallo? Only them? God let me add more. Superboy Prime, Imperiex Prime, Anti-Monitor, Emperor Joker, Ultraman, Asmodel, etc.. You are giving old informations. Superman has gained way much more power than he had before. HOW MUCH FREAKING TIME DO WE WILL HAVE TO REPEAT THAT SUPERMAN IS GETTING CLOSE TO THE PC LVL IF HE’S NOT ON THE PC LVL? YOU GUYS CAN’T UNDERSTAND THAT? GET A FREAKING BRAIN! Red Sun don’t affect Superman like it did before. He brought Superboy Prime into one and it was surrounded by Kryptonite. Still, he survived! Who care Thor has fought in the core of the sun? You stupid right? Superman destroyed a Sun Eater by going into it. Thor Hammer won’t hit Superman that much. He survived bigger hits like the Imperiex one. A blast that killed Doomsday. Can Thor run as fast as Superman can? Use heat vision to cut Thor in half? Etc..? No! Go away you Fanboy.
March 19th, 2010 at 7:36 pm
@”Gary” and whoever else, you must get up to date on current comics. Superman now can exceed the speed of light. Actually he was proven to go over thousands of times faster then light when he travels to other star systems in mere moments.
Also due to your comic ignorance Thor can only swing the hammer twice the speed of light after many moments of generating enough speed. This is said in the comics. Meaning, it takes Thor some seconds to accelerate his hammer to twice the speed of light. Lastly, the hammer itself is supplying some of the momentum (as shown in comics). Yes, Thor’s hammer is alive and moves according to Thor’s will. It can fly in circles, straight, and supply part of the striking power to Thor.
And when arguing comics one must use only the best feats of the character (high showings) because they contradict the low ones. For example, Thor was shown to not be bullet proof (got nearly killed when shot and had to go to the hosipital). He was also shown to be so slow that even Hulk, spider-man, Absorbing man, etc. would easily get hits off him. So let’s not be bias here and argue only the high showings ok.
So my argument of:
“Using good logic and reason it is easy to know that Superman would win against Thor rather easily. This is because of their huge speed difference. Superman at his fastest will have Thor appearing to be a statue. Superman can literally combo Thor to ko for the win everytime. Speed Kills!!”
Still stands!
March 19th, 2010 at 7:49 pm
@Leon:
Superman has been hurt by an exploding gas station. He once struggled to lift a pyramid. He’s also struggled to hold up the globe from the daily planet. And no, using only high showings is not right. Most people use the most “consistent” showings. Therefore, if a character is usually depicted as being able to lift at most a 100 tons thoughtout 10 years of writing by different writers, and then all of a sudden pushes a planet, that feat is typically thrown out.
So Spiderman’s highest feat is KOing a Herald of Galactus…I guess we only take Spiderman’s high end feats…so he must be more powerful than the Silver Surfer.
You’re a buffoon.
Also, I guess you don’t know that Superman can’t go faster than 99% the speed of light on Earth, because otherwise he would cause too much collateral damage (This has been stated MANY MANY times on panel). The Flash has no such restrictions. Neither does Thor. I want to see a scan stating it takes Thor time to get his hammer twice the speed of light. Its simply not true. And I’ve seen him swing it 3x light speed myself. Thor has also been shown fast enough to fight the Silver Surfer, Hermes, Hyperion and Gladiator. Superman has been shown to be “so slow” that Batman has been able to punch him, so has Metallo, who is a robot. Let’s see, who else has been able to punch Superman? God…. GL, the Adversary, Mohammad Ali, Venom, the Parasite, regular missiles, Giant Gorillas, Alien insects, Lex Luthor in a mechanical suit….
So not sure what your point is with Thor being hit by Spiderman. Maybe you just have never heard of PIS.
So if Superman can combo Thor so fast, why has he never done that to…ANYONE before? Why hasn’t Silver Surfer done that to Thor?
March 19th, 2010 at 8:52 pm
Rick : You always go with the old Superman exemple. HE EVOLVED YOU STUPID!? HOW MANY FREAKING TIME DID WE SAID THAT TO YOU? DO YOU ATLEAST GOT A DAMN BRAIN? Yeah right. Punching Superman is soooooooo hard. That doesn’t mean that punch will kill him idiot. God Wonder Woman is faster than Thor. PC Wonder Woman could beat Odin Thor, lol!
March 19th, 2010 at 4:10 am
What you must understand that when arguing characters the more recent characters are argued and the highest feats are used unless they contradict the entire history of a character. It was stated on panel that Superman received an upgrade since John Byrne’s Superman. It was stated on panel that Superman can exceed light speed, is much stronger, more durable, etc. So arguing feats for a character that no longer exist is stupid. The low feats you pointed out were more inconsistent than his high ones (which are not inconsistent at all). But you don’t make the rules here sir. I argue high feats for all unless they contradiction the entire history of a character (spider-man and firelord).
Actually Superman can and has exceeded the speed of light in Earth’s atmosphere recently. So you don’t know what you are talking about. I’m arguing power sets anyway and it is clear with Superman’s power set he would beat Thor every time rather easily.
Superman has comboed speed blitzed several times. He was shown to speed blitz combo so fast on panel that he exceeded the speed of his HV (which was proven on panel to travel light speed). The reason you don’t see it happening in comics too often is because it wouldn’t make a good story. “Oh Superman and SS speed blitz the first panel”. Fight over, comic over. Boring. It doesn’t mean they can’t or have the ability to do it. Grow a brain.
Superman wins easily due to comboing Thor to ko before Thor can react.
March 19th, 2010 at 4:10 am

@Leon:
If you went to any other site that debates comic book vs fights (like KMC or CBR), you would probably be laughed off the site in a matter of minutes. No one else I’ve ever talked to believes that we should only consider high end feats. That’s just stupid. Its pretty obvious from my avatar that I am a DC fan, and I will say other posters are correct that Superman cannot exceed certain speeds on the Earth (see the Doomsday fight, and plenty of other examples). The nature of his powers would destroy an entire city. And Superman wouldn’t do that. Also, there are countless examples showing that Thor can react to speedsters. So your arguments are pretty flawed.
March 19th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
I’ve seen Superman unleash EVERYTHING he’s had against opponents, and not once have I ever seen him speed blitz someone so fast that they couldn’t even react. I want to see scans. Superman’s interstellar TRAVEL speed might be FTL, but his COMBAT speed is not. Fact.
March 19th, 2010 at 1:29 pm
ShadowHunter, debating with you is like arguing with a rock, except the rock is more intelligent. I could fucking kill Wonder Woman. All I need is a shotgun, dumbass.
On a side note, I’m surprised that you made an entire comment without mentioning Sodam Yat. I’m impressed.
March 19th, 2010 at 1:30 pm
The only reason why superman can win against thor is if the writers(like they always do) write him some new powers or bring up some old ones that he never uses so he can rise to the occassion and writer would write some of thors powers out. Matching superman and thor hand to hand, power to power, Thor is more powerful. Its no question thor stright out powers him. There really aint to much superman can through at him that he couldnt handle. Super speed, is that it. heat vision..oh no..and thats supposed to win the fight against thor (im not under estimating those powers, just saying its not enough for a class superhero like thor). Superman has plenty of Crazy feats that he has displayed in D.C. But Thor has enough also to match him. If Thor lost to superman it would be because he under estimated him (prime example rulk, or juggs) But promise if they were to fight a second time superman isnt coming out on top (just my opinion though)
They are both pretty inconsistent with their feats so arguing who had did what in comics is a losing battle for both sides.

Now im not saying at all that just because Thor is more powerful he will be able to pull out the win easily on superman. By no streach of the imigination will that happen. i believe Thors powers will grant him the upperhand. And i believe i read somewhere that someone said pc wonder women takes out thor….wonder women is bad dont get me wrong..but no way can she match thor..i think wwh hulk can beat wonder women..shoot i think juggs can take on wonder women..gladitor can take on wonder women..and these are all people thor has feats over(except juggs..i think) but thats just mah opinion

Real and Rick : PC Wonder Woman, during the Immortal chalenges, would kick Thor ass.
Superhuman Strength: Granted by Demeter (Goddess of the Earth). Diana is literally as strong as the Earth because of her link to the planet granted to her by Demeter. She is quite possibly capable of lifting anything on Earth. It is obvious her strength is magical in nature, given her height and weight. According to the secret files, Wonder Womans’ strength is second only to beings such Superman and Darkseid. She has godlike strength and also invulnerability due to her aegis-made shield magic bracelets. With her superhuman strength and superior fighting abilities, she has proven to be a match for any of them at one time or another. During the War of the Gods, she was forced to fight and defeated Captain Marvel (Albeit he was not himself and she used her Lasso.). Later she needed and took out the six other members of the Justice League, in Justice League; League of One. This was done in order to save their lives as well as the entire planet. She over-powered and subdued Supergirl without significant effort, suggesting that she is stronger than any Kryptonian female. She is strong enough to lift well over 100 tons with ease.
Superhuman Durability: Granted by Demeter (Goddess of the Earth). High resistance to damage and magical attacks. Her resistance to injury is not quite as great as any of the above mentioned metahumans. However, due to her vast threshold for pain and her amazon ability to heal at a superhuman rate, this easily makes up for the difference. She has withstood considerable bludgeoning damage in the form of hand to hand combat with metahuman opponents (such as Superman and Captain Marvel) and physical damage (as seen when she is knocked back through two multi-story office buildings and then buried beneath them). She has considerable resistance to human weaponries, although there are inconsistancies in her ability to resist injury, the variances are probably due to discrepancies in observation. High powered rifle fire will cause her some pain, but no injury other than minor bruising. She can easily survive under extreme presures, freeze and heat. Born of the clay of Themyscira, and given life and divine powers by the gods themselves, Diana has heightened resistance to magical attacks. She is highly experienced in battling foes who use sorcery as a weapon. As a divine creation herself, she is far-less susceptible to manipulation by magic and mental attack than many of her fellow powerhouse heroes. Her body is also able to survive in extreme environments for long periods of time, like heat, cold, and even outer space, but cannot survive for extremely long periods of time in said environments without oxygen supply.
Flight: Granted by Hermes (God of Messengers). Wonder Woman is capable of unassisted flight through an as yet unknown but probably magical means or through telekenisis. Her aerial maneuverability is not as developed as aerial combatants such as Hawkman or the Black Condor, but she is still a relatively capable aerial combatant as well. Wonderwoman is capable of flying at speeds of at least earth’s orbital velocity (5 miles a second) and even escape velocity.Her top speed is about half the speed of light since she could keep up with Jesse Quick.
Superhuman Speed: Granted by Hermes (God of Messengers). She is able to think, react and move at superhuman speeds. She has been clocked at Mach 5 (hyper-sonic) traveling in flight just over an hour and can be presumed to be much faster when she has to be. Her super-speed, while impressive, is not as comparable to that of the Flash. Since Wonder Woman lacks a speed aura of the fastest speedsters, the environmental effects/disruptions that she causes probably give her the decision sometimes from utilizing superspeed mobility as a common mode of travel. It is unknown how long she can maintain a speedster’s average pace (which we clock at approximately 125 mph (2.08 miles/second) to 200 mph (3.3 mile/sec) innercity and 225 mph (3.75 miles/sec) to 500 mph (8.3 miles/sec) over land outside of cities), though with her superhuman stamina, she can probably last as long as her counterparts, at her level.
Superhuman Reflexes: Granted by Hermes (God of Messengers). Wonder Woman possesses reflex abilities similar to speedsters, such as Jesse Quick and Max Mercury, somewhere in the range of 15 to 20 times normal human reflexes with little concentration. She is able to keep up with Jesse Quick with ease, referencing her patron deity of speed and messenger of the gods, Hermes, as the source of her powers.
Superhuman Agility: Wonder Womans’s agility is far beyond that of even an olympic level athlete. As is her balance and coordination.
Superhuman Stamina: Wonder Woman can last a great deal of time in any fight and with virtually anyone. She has held her own in combat with even a Doomsday clone. She doesn’t tire out like many of her male meta-human counterparts.
Enhanced Healing Factor: Granted by Demeter (Goddess of Earth). Like the Earth, Diana is constantly renewing herself, allowing her to quickly heal at an amazing rate. Her normal regenerative abilities allow her to recover from injury within seconds to minutes. She possesses an incredible immunity from poisons, toxins, as well as disease. In rare cases where she was gravely injured or where another has managed to severely poison her, Diana showed the ability to physically merge with the Earth, causing whatever injuries or poisons to be expelled from her body as she regains shape.
Oneness With Fire: Granted by Hestia (Goddess of the Hearth). Apparently making her a focus of truth.
Empathy: Granted by Athena. (Goddess of Wisdom) “The Sight of Athena” apparently grants her increased insight. (For example, Diana can often detects others’ emotions, and is now so fully immune to Doctor Psycho’s illusions that she usually is not even aware of what illusions he is attempting to project. Apparently most forms of mind control will not work on her either). She can also detect other people’s emotions. Even other high-level telepaths would be unable to read her mind or attack her in such a manner.
* Animal Rapport: Granted by Artemis (Goddess of the Hunt). Ability to communicate with all forms of animals (including dinosaurs) and her presence alone can bring a raging beast to a calm standstill.
Enhanced Senses: Granted by Artemis (Goddess of the Hunt). Eyesight, hearing, taste, touch and smell.
* Superhuman Sight: She also possess the “Hunters Eye” which allows her to always hit her mark. She can see to far greater distances than any normal human. Wonder Woman was briefly blinded, then had her sight restored by Athena. Since then, she has had the sight of Athena.
* Enhanced Smell
* Enhanced Hearing
Dimensional teleportation: On occasion, Wonder Woman can literally leave the planet through meditaion. She did this to rescue Artemis when she was in hell, and has even conversed with the Greek Gods on occasion.
Abilities
Master Combatant: Diana is the finest warrior ever born among the Amazons of Themyscira. She is a master of armed and unarmed combat, proficient with nearly every weapon ever made (especially the bow and the javelin) and the exotic martial arts styles of the Amazons. Batman once remarked that Wonder Woman is the best melee fighter in the world.
Master Tactician and Strategist: Diana is also an accomplished strategist and tactician, trained in the arts of leadership, persuasion and diplomacy, and possesses a great deal of courage as well. She is a gifted leader.
Multi-lingual: Diana has exhibited heightened proficiency with languages, being able to speak her native Themysciran, Ancient and Modern Greek, English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Mandarin Chinese (she expressed “difficulty” with the tones of Cantonese during an interview with Lois Lane), Russian and Hindi. Plus, through precise muscle control, she can mimic other peoples voices for short conversations (telephone). It is more difficult, (though it can be done), for her to mimic a mans voice than another womans voice.
Wisdom: Granted by Athena (Goddess of Wisdom). Diana possesses great wisdom and intelligence, though the degree varies from author to author. She is among the smartest and wisest members of the Justice League of America, along with the Martian Manhunter and Batman.
Aviation: Expert pilot. Seen flying the Invisible Jet with ease.
Expert Lasso Wielder: Can use the Lasso of Truth as an offensive and defensive weapon.
Strength level
Class 100+; Diana can lift 100 tons effortlessly. Wonder Woman’s physical strength is superhuman to the point where she is second only to beings such as Superman and Darkseid. Her powers continue to grow and manifest,the longer she lives and works in “mans world”. She is capable of lifting well over 100 tons effortlessly and she has been seen to help move objects as large as the Earth itself. Few super-villians have been able to match her capabilties as well. She is obviously, wise given her age. Her amazon training and experience combined with her powers, make her nearly unstoppable.
Although Wonder Woman’s mythos was returned to its original interpretation between 1966 and 1967, new abilities were added: super breath (to blow jet streams or transform water into snow); ventriloquism; imperviousness to extremes of heat and cold; ride the air currents as if flying; mental telepathy (even to project images); microscopic vision; the ability to vibrate into another dimension, and others which are listed in the Encyclopedia of Comic Book Heroes, Volume Two (1976).[20]
Depending on the writer, Diana’s invulnerability and power varied greatly with the story needs. Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, Robert Kanigher, for example, portrayed Wonder Woman as being so strong that she, after standing atop her hovering plane and lassoing it with her magic lasso, was able to effortlessly lift Themyscira out of the way of an approaching tsunami using just one hand. Kanigher showed Wonder Woman as able to lift whales as a girl and blowing so hard on her birthday cake as a baby of two years old that she sent it into orbit.
At least as early as the 1950s, Wonder Woman’s golden tiara has also doubled as a dagger and a throwing weapon, returning to her like a boomerang. Its sharpness and mystical nature proved enough to cut even Superman.
Diana once possessed the Sandals of Hermes, or talaria, which granted the wearer great speed and flight. They were passed on, first to Artemis and later to Wonder Girl. Diana also once possessed the Gauntlets of Atlas, which magnify the physical strength and stamina of the wearer. They too were passed on.
The Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age portrayals of Wonder Woman showed her using an invisible airplane that could be controlled by mental commands. It was variously described as being either a creation of Amazon technology, or alternately the legendary winged horse Pegasus transformed into an aircraft. Its appearance varied as well, originally having a propeller and later being drawn as a jet aircraft, resembling a fighter plane.
The Post-Crisis or Modern Age Wonder Woman has continued to use the Invisible Plane in the form of a small lightweight disc of alien (Lansinar) technology that, when triggered by her thoughts, transforms into a transparent version of whatever object or vehicle that is appropriate for her needs. This disc was later shown to be a sentient life-form. Following the One Year Later continuity jump, Diana was given a new invisible plane, created by Wayne Industries, because her original Invisible Plane was stuck on Themyscira.
Diana occasionally uses additional weaponry in formal battle, such as ceremonial golden armor complete with golden wings, war-skirt and chest-plate, and a golden helmet in the shape of an eagle’s head. She also possesses a sword (also forged by Hephaestus) that is sharp enough to cut the electrons off an atom

@Emerald Magus
Well, usually when you bring low end feats, everybody claims PIS and when you bring High end feats everybody claims Firelord/Spiderman exeption
Unless the feat is consistent, then they will cal the high end feat PIS.
The point is that We are not trying to make Democrats into Republicans or Republicans into Democrats, We are trying to make the undecided to pick our side.
Some conversions may occur, but really unlikelly.

@Rick
I doubt you have seen Superman unleashing EVERYTHING
After all, you are showing COVERS as your main weapon of argument
March 19th, 2010 at 7:17 pm
Emerald, the fact that you have a GL (Hal Jordan) picture doesn’t mean you are a DC fan… lol. I could just put a Hulk picture and say the same thing to you. Still, I would claim that Hulk is weak and lame (Still, it’s true).

@REAL TALK CAISON
I will tell you this, because You are one of the few people who makes sense
Talking about POWERS Thor has MORE POWERS, as in quantity and only few of his Powers have quality
Superman on the other hand has less powers, but all of his powers have quality, over quantity.
I could agree that Thor because he has more powers he is more powerful than Superman, but from there to actually defeat Superman. I don’t think so.
Superman has the Speed, the strenght, durability and the BRAINS. To come up most of the time.
Thor on the other hand, USUALLY fights head on, and that does not help him at all. Thor only uses his intelligence, when he is loosing, unfortunatelly for Thor Superman is a guy who has superspeed and can take advantage of that, before Thor realizes that he is loosing
Because of this at least 6/10 go for Superman

Here is the only scan I have of it (don’t have many Superman comics but I’ve read many). I’ve seen others but unfortunately I don’t have the comics to give you the scans.
http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/6441/ftlspeedblitz.jpg
With that shown. I and many others argue that if a character can do it then he/she will do it (under common sense reason to win the fight of course). It is clear that Superman HAS the ability to speedblitz. Whether he uses in comics frequently is immaterial. This is more of a theoretical argument and not of one of which will actually occur in the comic.
Imagine fighting a still dummy. Can the dummy actually beat you? No! Because the dummy can’t move.
Superman is so fast that Thor would appear to be a statue (dummy). Do you know what a combination is?
It is a series of hits where each hit is delivered before the stunning effect of the previous hit wears off. After Superman hits Thor for the first time he will chain other hits in to form a combo into Thor is koed for the win. Speed Kills!
March 19th, 2010 at 10:39 pm
Leon : I agree with you and the only dangerous thing in a fight between Superman and Thor would be Mjolnir, Thor hammer. But still, Superman would use his speed to prevent Thor from spinning it and use it.

@Leon
Great scan, unfortunatelly,showing the scan to Rick is like talking to a… Nevermind is just like talking to nothing.
His little twisted mind does not comprehend what is going on and he tends to put words on everything.
You see after the scan, he went to eat more chips and then He shuts up.
