This email comes from Fgvb Bv:

1.Why the fuck did you put sonic in the worst game characters?

2.Why are 3 of the best SEGA game consoles on the worst console list?

3.Your site sucks. I can tell your a Nintendo FANBOY.

So, what is your reply? Oh no, you wouldnt do that, people who reply for last post are quite juvenile. I like mario but hes not that great so stop mocking SEGA!!!
    Read on for our answer…

It always makes me laugh when Sega fanboys get mad at us for not worshiping Sega as much as they do. If we do so much as mention the slightest negative aspect of anything Sega we get attacked by Sega fanboys. First we fully and apologetically think that Nintendo is the greatest system and video game maker of all time. We put Sonic on the worst character’s list for a number of reasons. First he is and was derivative. He is very obviously Sega’s answer to Mario. That being said he is therefore unoriginal. Second he placates his intended audience as he was meant to be hip and cool, like the Marlborough Man. Mario was a plumber. He was cool because he wasn’t. Though everyone on the staff liked playing the games, they eventually became boring. I must have played and still could play any Mario game ever and still have just as much, if not more fun. I’ve answered your second question before. Sega failed. Ask yourself this: what Sega systems are currently out? I’ll wait. Oh…nothing they gave up because they couldn’t compete. So there really is no argument despite Sega fan boys. So that is my reply. I am quite juvenile. I  too like Mario but will never stop mocking Sega.

  1. OW is GAY!

  2. I hate most oldschool Sega games. Of cours,e when Dreamcast was out, I did like that system a little and I definitely played RE:CVX on it.

But yeah, fuck Sonic. Fanboys (and fangirls) go cry a river. Sonic is a furry, and Tails is worse. Gtfo Sonic, I’ve always hated you. Give me Mario. Actually, don’t even do that. Just give me a character that isn’t bright blue with a bad franchise.

First off, not everyone that defends Sega deserves to be labeled a fanboy. There’s nothing wrong with just respecting a company that gave so much to gaming.

I think you have “unoriginal” confused with “uninspired.” There was never another character like Sonic before Sonic, so how could he be unoriginal? Anyways, Sega never denied that Sonic was its answer to Mario. Sega knew they needed a mascot and they succeeded in making a character that is and always will be iconic of Sega. The games on the other hand are questionable. While I do enjoy them, they are flawed with horrible controls(among other things). I’ll agree that Mario was and always will be the superior franchise.

Lastly, the reason you give for putting Sega’s best consoles on your “Worst” list works ONLY if you had created a “Top most unsuccessful consoles” list. As far as the technical aspect of the consoles is concered; they were a bit ahead of their time, and that is deserving of a little respect as far as I’m concerned.

In either case, your unwarranted hate for the company is laughable but I respect your opinion even though I don’t understand it.

  4. I agree with Gamesta on most all accounts; though the I disagree with the notion that “Sega’s best consoles on your “Worst” list works ONLY if you had created a “Top most unsuccessful consoles” list” because the Genesis was not only Sega’s most successful system but a huge success all round.

Thus far, whenever I’ve asked, or have been discussing Sonic with someone, most all say, although they like Mario, they would much rather play Sonic at the time – couldn’t all have become bored, eh? :-p

I don’t believe it’s so much that Sega couldn’t compete, moreso they were unlucky. Firstly, the Saturn was not meant to be a 3D console, but once word (exaggerated as it might be) got out about what the Playstation was capable of, another processor was added and they were rushed to the market. Due to this, the Saturn was incredibly difficult to work with – the great Yu Suzuki claiming only 1 in 100 programmers could manage 2 processors sufficiently – and thus Sega was glad to drop the Saturn in support for the Dreamcast.
The Dreamcast, as it happens, gained a lot of momentum upon release. It had a very successful launch.
Then, as had previously happened with its predecessor to a lesser extent, due to the impossible claims made about the PS2, nobody bothered buying a Dreamcast because the PS2 was going to be infinitely better.

So then, one could say, Sega just got the short end of the stick in a game of chance.

    [Course, doesn't matter what I say - I'm a fan of Sega. ;-) ]

    See you next time.

  5. Nintendo is the best game developer, but SEGA deserves top 5 position. I prefer Mario over Sonic but sonic is better (better as in COOLER.)

  6. Best sega systems 1.Genesis 2.Dreamcast 3.Saturn.

  7. You laugh about how devoted Sega fans are to their console, I laugh at how ignorant and stupid you Wii-Tards are.

  8. I will name you the new sega console out when you name me the new Capcom console out, Sega doesn’t need to be making consoles to be awesome, neither do Capcom or Konami or Squaresoft or Midway or Activision or Namco or EA.
