Our Top 10 Worst Video Game Heroes List has stirred up quite a bit of controversy this week, and because of that, we’ve decided to address a few of the most common questions and criticisms people have left us.
Why is Johnny Cage on your list of worst video game heroes, while Kano isn’t.
Because Kano doesn’t wear cheap sun glasses.
Why is Paperboy on your list of worst video game heroes? He isn’t even a hero.
Paperboy is certainly made out to be a hero. Look at the front cover of the game. If this doesn’t say “Look at me, I’m a hero” to you, then you don’t know who heroes are in the first place. You guys constantly have the same games on your lists. Don’t you think that this shows a lack of overall knowledge of games?
No, it shows that there are certain games that have stuck with us positively or negatively throughout the video game age. We allowed games to have impressions on us rather than try to understand as many games as possible, diminishing the quality of any specific experiences.

worst website ever.

As I’ve already enumerated reasons why Sonic should be on the Best list and knocked off the worst, I would like to address, particularly, this issue:
In your opinion, does the argument that Sonic is a Mario clone really hold up?
After all, many great platformers that are praised, and are all similar, are praised as their own to this day.
Sonic can jump dive, or jump and charge into his enemies. He can run straight through if he’s going fast enough. Would it not be comparable to calling Donkey Kong a Mario clone? He can jump on enemies.
Wether you like Sonic or not is subjective, but dubbing him a Mario clone just doesn’t seem to hold up.
See you next time.

PIngfa. Sometimes it would be helpful to take things with a grain of salt. Maybe the writer was writing the whole article tongue and cheek. How can you take a virtual character so seriously?

Yeah, I would say that if the author’s reasons for not including Kano on the list of worst hero’s ever are he “doesn’t wear cheap sun glasses” then I think its safe to assume you’re looking for a logical argument where there is none.
That being said, I think that Sonic is something of a Mario rip off.

?
I wasn’t arguing. I’m just making conversation.
