Mega Man vs Samus
Here at Old-Wizard we love to engage in utterly pointless debates, and can you think of a debate more pointless than an argument about who would win in a fight between two different video game characters? So, in the spirit of Old-Wizard, we decided to analyze who would in a fight between two of our all time favorite video game characters, namely Mega Man and Samus. We hope you enjoy meaningless discussion as much as we do, because if you do, you’ll love this article.

Top 10 Reasons Oasis is Better than The Beatles
Ever since Oasis has been called one of the greatest bands of all time, they have also been called Beatles copy cats. This is unfortunate as Oasis are better than The Beatles. The staff of Old-Wizard.com listens to Oasis about 10 times the amount of time we spend listening to The Beatles. We thought to ourselves, “What makes Oasis so much better than the Beatles”? This question was easy for us, and we came up with ten reasons in less time than it takes a Beatles fan to call Oasis a “rip off”. We hope these next reasons give some credence to the Oasis enterprise, if not totally change the mind of all those music fans who like to bash Oasis for some unfounded reasons. Say to yourself right now, “are you ready to say that Oasis are better than the Beatles?” Here we go! -
Mail Bag: July 16th, 2008
It has recently come to the attention of Old Wizard that a few young gentleman have put some video “responses” up to some of our more controversial lists. As anyone knows, Sega fans are an excitable bunch; quick to defend their failed systems and copy cat games and even quicker to call us fan boys… which is interesting. I don’t feel I should have to point out the irony here, really I don’t. I’m probably going to have to, but for now I’ll leave it be.

Thor vs. Superman
The Mighty Thor and Superman are the heavy-hitters of Marvel and DC respectively, each of them arguably the most powerful hero in their respective universes. So its natural that this is without question the most discussed versus debate amongst comic book fans. No other versus battle comes close to being talked about as much than this one. Try to start a “Superman vs Thor” thread on any forum and the first response is sure to be: “Not this again”.Some of you may remember our “Top 10 Most Powerful Superheroes” list that we released a while back, where we made the controversial claim that Thor was the most powerful superhero of all time (Superman coming in at number three on that list). Months later we are still receiving emails either agreeing with us, or flaming us for that decision. Many fans cite Superman’s speed as the deciding factor in any fight between the two behemoths. Other emails claim that Thor’s magical powers would be enough to stop the man of steel in his tracks. So, the natural question is, do we still stand by our claim that Thor is more powerful than Superman? The answer is still “yes.” In this article we’ll break down the seven most common arguments and give you our take on them.

Top 5 Swedish Bands
There are many countries that are recognized first and foremost for their quality of music. Two of the most obvious countries are England and the United States. The musical battle between these two empires has lasted a good half a century now. Little do the fighters of these countries realize that some of best pop music of the last century came from Sweden. Unfortunately though, when someone mentions Swedish music they are usually trying to reference some punk band like The Refused. This website does not find punk music to be the best of anything, so anyone looking for The Hives to be on this list can go look on some generic best of punk list instead. With this list, we celebrate Sweden for its pop music that has influenced some of the stronger bands of today. We urge everyone to check out these bands if they haven’t yet.

Ask Old-Wizard: World of Warcraft Edition
Ever since Old-Wizard went up over a year ago we have received at least ten emails a week asking us to expand our coverage of World of Warcraft. Time being what it is, we’ve barely have time to keep up with all the stuff we already cover, but nevertheless we always like to accommodate all our fans who take the time to write to us. (if you haven’t done so yet, the email is oldwizard.com@gmail.com). So, in the spirit of satisfying our few fans, here is the first ever World of Warcraft Edition of Ask Old-Wizard: -
Top 10 Sports Games
A debate we often have here at Old-Wizard.com is whether or not people who play sports games are really nerds. On the one hand, if you think about it sports can be nerdy. Just look at all the stats involved in watching sports; most true sports fans will know their favorite player’s batting average, shooting percentage, or quarterback rating right off the top of their head. On the other hand the staff here at Old-Wizard prefers blowing the crap out of aliens and zombies, and we think that simulating anything that’s half realistic is usually as boring as it sounds. Yet we had no better ideas for a video game list this week, so we sat down and figured out the ten sports games that we both felt have transcended real world tedium to become the only sports games that we play and enjoy on a regular basis.

Top 5 Worst Music Magazines
As the avid Old-Wizard reader knows, we love music. We have written articles on musical themes which one can read under our music category. We were at the local book store the other day reading music magazines when DestructoMaximo shouted “this magazine sucks”, throwing down the publication with a force that turned the entire store’s head. After being confronted by a store manager, we decided to calm down and think of productive ways to displace our anger. The “top 5 worst music magazines” immediately came to both of our heads. Within a second we wrote down what 5 we disliked most. We clearly agreed on the first four and had to discuss the last. We took our anger out on our laptop keyboards and wrote this article fairly quickly. We both know that we will still glance at these pathetic excuses for music magazines, but it’s only because we like being angry at things that will we continue to make ourselves suffer by opening up these publications, even if for only a second.

Top 10 Reasons That Super Nintendo Dominated the Sega Genesis
As many of you know, we are partial to Nintendo over and above Sega. We find this preference no more noticeable than in the comparison of the SNES and the Sega. In this list, we will go through the top ten reasons why we think the SNES is better than Sega. We find these reasons to be obvious for anyone who has thoroughly played both systems. With the amount of bitter email we receive about the whole NES VS. Sega “wars”, we felt it necessary to elaborate further on why we think Nintendo always dominated Sega. These next top ten reasons we feel are undeniable reasons for the SNES’s domination over the Sega Genesis. We hope we can convert some Segaheads to the real truth about the SNES’s domination.
